Releasing his first album as Machinefabriek in 2004, Rutger Zuydervelt kept a tight scedule of releasing 3-inch cdrs and albums on labels like 12K, Dekorder, Root Strata, Staalplaat, Type and Home Normal. The music of this Rotterdam based musician and freelance graphic designer varies from carefully crafted electro acoustic compositions to improvised drone-scapes and heavily treated field recordings. As an ongoing research in trying new possibilities, Machinefabriek releases and live performances are never the same. He collaborated with the likes of Peter Broderick, Stephen Vitiello, Aaron Martin, Frans de Waard, Andrea Belfi, Steinbrüchel, Mark Templeton and many others.
